[title of show]
[title of show] is a one-act musical, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell. The show chronicles its own creation as an entry in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and follows the struggles of the author and composer/lyricist and their two actress friends during the initial brief (three-week) creative period, along with subsequent events leading up to the show's production.
Meet the Cast
OWEN REYNOLDS, Hunter, was delighted to make his professional debut with Miami Theatre Works in [title of show]. Some of his most recent credits include Matilda the Musical (Agatha Trunchbull), Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical (Jekyll & Hyde), and Hairspray (Link Larkin). A fourth generation Miamian, he is a graduate of Palmer Trinity School where he was a longtime, award winning member of its theatre troupe. Owen is currently majoring in Architecture and minoring in Theatre at Cornell University where he is also a member of Cornell’s Midnight Comedy Troupe. With nearly a decade of live performance experience and as a founding member of Miami Theatre Works, Owen is excited to take the Summer stage with his mentor and friend Michael Stoddard in MTW’s inaugural production of [title of show]. “Thanks to my family and friends for helping to grow Summer theatre in the magic city of Miami.”
STEPHANIE STASZAK, Heidi, was thrilled to make her Florida debut with this brand new theatre company! Coming from Milwaukee, WI, Stephanie has been working as an actress and choreographer since 2014 with various local theatre companies, community theatres and high schools, as well as in film and commercials. Her most recent work was originating the role of Abby Willet in a live-streamed, staged reading of the new musical Fortunate Sons with music and lyrics by Paul Williams and playing Gwendolyn in a virtual film production of the musical Being Ernest. Both productions were through the Skylight Music Theatre. She has been a friend and colleague of Michael Stoddard’s for many years and is honored to be working with him again as a part of this inaugural production and is excited to be in the city of her beloved Golden Girls.
MICHAEL STODDARD, Jeff, was thrilled to revive the role of Jeff having played it in 2018 in New Hampshire. Michael has lived in Miami for the past five years where he directs and performs internationally while working full time as the Director of Theatre at Palmer Trinity School. Michael is also the creator and Executive Director of Miami Theatre Works and is excited to perform in its premiere production this summer. Other recent performance highlights include, Albin in La Cage Aux Folles (Interlakes Summer Theater, Leo Frank in Parade (GCT), Lord Farquaad in Shrek, (Educational Theatre Collaborative), Jamie in The Last Five Years, (All In Productions), Jerry in The Full Monty (GCT), and Princeton/Rod in Avenue Q, (Split Stage Productions). In February Michael is excited to travel to Puerto Rico where he will play the role of Dr. Madden in an English speaking production of, Next To Normal. “Thank you all for supporting summer theater in Miami and what I hope will be another opportunity for artists to work in our great city each summer.”
NATALIE VEATER, Susan, was beyond excited to make her professional theater debut with Miami Theater Works as Susan in [title of show]. Hailing from Miami, FL she has recently received a B.F.A in Film & Television production from the Savannah College of Art and Design. These days you can find Natalie acting and modeling in addition to writing and producing for film and television. She works hard to one day see the world and supply a beautiful home to several dogs.
